Frank became a member of the Hollywood Photographers Guild and
soon found himself as a staff photographer for a number of Movie
magazines. In Hollywood, Frank began building his reputation as
photographer to the movie stars and developed ties with many legendary
Hollywood figures as James Dean, The Marx Brother, Errol Flynn,
Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra and other such luminaries. He etched
out a living as a freelance photographer in Hollywood during the
nostalgic 1940s and '50s. At this time most photographers were
tightly controlled by a powerful studio system, however, as friend
and fan to the stars Frank Worth escaped these restrictions and
captured images that these studios would never normally have allowed.
After his untimely death in 2000, Frank Worth's family discovered
a virtual treasure trove of never before seen photos that he had
taken. In as many as 10,000 black and white and color photos that
were never before published, Frank Worth had captured through
his camera lens a personal and distinctive history of the last
golden era of Sports and Hollywood. The "undiscovered" Frank Worth
collection was so astonishing that his family felt that even after
his death Frank should still be recognized for his remarkable
works. These unique and noteworthy photos will serve as a final
tribute to his photographic legacy. Posthumously, Frank Worth
will live on through his undiscovered works to become, as many
of the figures he photographed, an iconic status in our cultural
conscious.
